Wise Body Therapy in Phoenix, AZ
There is a way forward—and you don’t have to find it alone.
I’m so glad you’re here!
Your symptoms aren’t the problem. They’re the clue.
Jenny Bilskie-Smith,
Therapist & Owner of Wise Body Therapy
Hi. I’m so glad you’re here.
Perhaps you’re the one everyone counts on, but it’s gotten hard it hold together.
Maybe you have a painful relationship with food and your body, a vigilant voice in your mind that’s always planning, prepping, predicting, or a baffling sense of sadness.
Perhaps you’ve sought treatment, read the books, but didn’t get the shift you hoped for.
I have good news, my friend.
These are only symptoms.
Your pain has roots in the relationships that shaped you. Now relationships feel suffocating—or never quite enough. You carry other people’s emotions as if they’re your responsibility, while wondering who will carry yours.
I can help you get relief from these symptoms, but we’ll also discover, together, the real source of your pain.
...And the answer, my friend, lies within your beautiful nervous system.
Healing happens in relationship—in safe connection, attuned presence, and the experience of being met exactly where you are. That’s why therapy can be so transformative. It offers a place where what you feel makes sense, where your story is honored, and where your body can finally begin to exhale.
“After so much wasted time and energy trying to control the way my body looked and what I ate, I am so grateful to have more mental space and energy for things that matter more to me. Jenny was so attentive and responsive to my thoughts and feelings during our sessions and her follow up. It was easier to go through the changes and adjustments with my eating and other habits because I knew she was there for me and had my back.”
“Jenny is an incredible counselor with amazing insight and expertise. She is extremely attentive, thoughtful, and encouraging. I leave each session with nuggets of wisdom that I carry with me in-between visits. She has a huge heart and cares deeply about helping her clients achieve the best possible outcomes. I can’t thank Jenny enough for her support and highly recommend her as a counselor.“
What To Expect
Thoughtful, Personalized Therapy
Every person who walks through my door has a unique story, nervous system, strengths, and survival strategies. I spend time thinking deeply about your case, connecting patterns, reviewing what we’re learning, and tailoring therapy to your specific goals. There is no one-size-fits-all treatment plan here.
We don’t just talk. We create change
Many people come to me saying, “I don’t want to spend years just talking about my problems.”
Neither do I.
Our conversations matter, but they’re only one part of the work. Together we’ll identify patterns, experiment with new ways of responding, practice skills in real time, and gently retrain your nervous system so change doesn’t just make sense intellectually—it becomes something your body can actually experience.
We’ll measure what matters.
Healing isn’t always linear, but it should be intentional.
We’ll regularly check in on what’s improving, what’s still getting in the way, and whether we’re moving toward the life you want. If something isn’t working, we’ll adjust. Therapy should evolve as you do.
We work with your body, not just your mind.
Insight is valuable, but insight alone rarely creates lasting change.
Much of our work happens by slowing down. We’ll learn to notice what your nervous system is communicating beneath the thoughts, helping your body discover new experiences of safety, connection, and choice.
You won’t have to remember everything.
Your job is to be fully present in session—not to take perfect notes.
After many sessions, I’ll send you a personalized recap with key insights, themes, and ideas to continue exploring between appointments. My hope is that therapy becomes something you live, not just something you attend once a week.
“Jenny has a way with words and has great insight and perspective. Body image and self confidence were a huge struggle for me my entire life. With Jenny’s help I can now look in the mirror, like what I see and appreciate who I am.”
“From the moment we spoke, my body immediately eased into a comfortable “knowing” space with her… one that always reinforced that I was seen, that I was heard, that I mattered.”
My Passion
I’m passionate about helping people (like you) heal your emotional wounds from the source so you can break free from the debilitating cycles for good. In your healed existence, you can spend your time and energy on the things that give your life meaning and joy.
Mental Health Therapy and Counseling
Modalities for In-Person or Virtual Therapy in Arizona

EMDR
Toxic stress can sometimes overwhelm our nervous system, making it hard for us to process and integrate our experiences smoothly. This can cause certain memories to get “stuck,” leading to what we often call “triggers.” EMDR therapy helps in processing these memories so that they no longer trouble us, allowing us to move forward more freely.

Parts Work
Ego State Parts Work invites us to view our defenses with kindness and understanding, helping them gently relax. As these defenses ease, we gain clearer access to the deeper wounds beneath, opening a path for healing and growth.

Polyvagal Therapy
Polyvagal Therapy aims to activate the body’s natural calming responses by stimulating the vagus nerve. Techniques like breathwork, muscle relaxation, and social connection help retrain the nervous system toward a lasting sense of safety & ease.

Intuitive Eating
Intuitive Eating counseling works by reconnecting you to your body’s intuitive wisdom. If we tune into the wisdom of our bodies, we can access a treasure trove of information about what we need on a moment-to-moment basis. This starts in the physical realm, but it also translates into the emotional realm.
